The Sorcerer

Our other resident reviewer, John Kaminski, has been so kind as to provide a pulse-pounding profile of Aaron the Sorcerer for you reading pleasure (pictures included!).

Here's his synopsis of the story:

In the deserts of the American south-west, a young man walked out of a sandstorm and into a service station owned by Lucy Scott and her father. Introducing himself as “Aaron”, the young man asked for employment and was hired as a handyman.

Able to perform miraculous repairs, Aaron spent his free time staring out the window into the darkness. One night, three robed wizards (who had been pursuing Aaron) appeared and wanted Aaron to return with them. Rejecting their order, Aaron engaged the wizards in a mystical battle, which was ultimately deemed useless because Aaron could counter-act all the spells of the wizards. The wizards departed, but took away Aaron’s powers, leaving him happier because he could then lead a “normal” life and find love with Lucy.

Aw, ain't that just the sweetest thing! And now a special treat…

Can A Comment Save the World?!?

Another one of my favorite Kirby/Ayers covers! Moody and dramatic - a classic!

And don't forget the brief cameo of a dragon that looks very much like Fin Fang Foom on page 5 of “The Sorcerer”!

This could easily be an “untold tale” of the young Victor Von Doom before his disfiguring accident! “Aaron” sorta resembles Doc Doom from the flashback origin in FF Annual #2 and the Druid guys look like the ones that later gave him his armor and mask too!

what a beautiful cover!
this is my 1 post here and i'm sorry that my collection count 0 comics of that age (and anyway the rest are in italian version and not much) but i'm a fan of Kirby and the crew from the 50.
this one story that you have on the site is very solid and cool, but as a whole, thanks for the great work you've done on this site! :)
