Gxenu and MARK VIII
History: The alien Gxenu and the robotic MARK VIII came to Earth as emissaies of their world to investigate Earth's weapons systems to see if mankind was worthy of continued existance. Meeting with U.S. armed forces, Gxenu was siezed and MARK VIII was told that Gxenu (whom they thought to be the leader) would remain a hostage to insure the safety of Earth. As the spaceship departed, Gxenu fell to the ground and was revealed to be a lifeless plastic android, while the mechanical MARK VIII was revealed to be the true leader.
Height: Gxenu - 5 ft. 6 in., MARK VIII - 7 ft. 6 in.
Demonstrated Powers: Gxenu displayed no special powers. MARK VIII was able to levitate via electromagnetism and could disintegrate objects with hyper cosmic energy.
Equipment: Spaceship
Comment: This story reminds me of the 1951 movie The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Dear Editor,
I read this story here for the first time. I think it had a nice twist. The idea of selecting a more human form to more easily communicate with us humans of Earth was a nice twist.
