Meet... the Monster!

The Aliens from the Wax Museum

History: Aliens of different forms landed their spacecraft on Earth. Disquising their spacecraft as a wax museum, the aliens made themselves the “displays” and would stand in place while observing mankind, to see if mankind was worthy of helping. One day, a comic-book artist went to the “wax museum” to sketch the monsterous aliens for inspiration. Falling asleep and getting locked inside after hours, the artist learned that the “wax figures” were really aliens. Running to the authorities, the artist told them of the aliens, whom he thought to be invaders. The police returned to the “wax museum” and chased the aliens away. As the spaceship took off, the police discovered the aliens' journal, where they read of the aliens true friendly intentions.

Height: Various
Demonstrated Powers: The “wax figure” aliens were all of different species, but showed no special powers.

Equipment: “Wax Museum” Spaceship

Comment: This story, “Midnight in the Wax Museum”, should not be confused with the stories from Amazing Adventures # 1 (art by Steve Ditko) and Tower of Shadows # 3, both of which have the same title.

There is a Wax Man in Spider-Woman vol.1#17-18(8-9/79) and Adventure Into Mystery#6(3/57);not to be confused with the Captain America villian in Captain America Comics#2(4/41) called the Wax Man.Does anyone know if there are wax figures of the Frankenstein's Monster,Dracula,Werewolf,Mummy, and others in that story(like there is in The Creature of Vandoom)? My reason is the late 1960s Spider-Man cartoon(The Peril Of Parafino);which is how those characters can be the Real thing, even if they are only heads(see Namor the Sub-Mariner and The Sensational She-Hulk for a “headless” Namor and She-Hulk whose bodies where behind a wall).Marvel Tales vol.1#99(1951) has The Secret Of The Wax Museum.

In “The Night Of The Villians” Parafino used wax-robots (solid wax figures on himself,Blackbeard The Pirate,Jesse James and The Executioner Of Paris) that he somehow animated and contolled through his wall mounted Robot Control. He had other wax figures he did not use—Jack The Ripper,”Genghis Khan” and either “Lizzie Borden” or “Lucrezia Borgia”.In “The Peril Of Parafino” he coated escaped con Reddog Melvin in wax and turned him into a living wax figure(he planned to do the same to Spider-Man).He called himself Parafino,Wax Master Of The World.

The Parafino “wax-robot” appeared in “The Peril Of Parafino” only(“The Night Of The Villians” was on last Friday—no Parafino-“robot”).Alpha Flight vol.#3#7(11/04)-8(12/04)[Waxing Poetic part 1 & 2] Alpha Flight fought the Manimator(Laurent LeVessaur)who used mutated meteor wax to create animated statues in the images of American Heroes in an attempt to stop Canadians from idolizing American Heroes.
