The Cosmic Elders
History: For centuries, two unnamed cosmic elders watched mankind overcome such challenges as floods, plagues, and wars. In the year 5000, mankind would face its greatest challenge: the death of the sun. One elder was confident of man's ability to survive, while the other had his doubts. As the sun faded and the world froze, humanity tunnelled into the Earth and established a subterranean world. One day, an unknown celestial object drifted towards Earth. When a small group of humans tried to destroy the object with missles, they were stopped by the majority of humans. The object turned out to be a new sun, which warmed the frozen Earth, once again making the surface of the world habitable. The elders were pleased to see humans had resisted their baser instincts to destroy, and had grown stronger and wiser. The elders were confident that one day man would join them in the stars.
Height: Unknown
Comment: The Cosmic Elders never made contact with humanity, they only watched all events on a giant viewscreen, so their is no way to make a size comparison.
Demonstrated Powers: Since the Cosmic Elders watched mankind for centuries, they were quite possibly immortal. Possibly possessing godlike powers and technology, the Cosmic Elders observed mankind on a giant viewscreen.
Comment: The name “Cosmic Elders” is used purly as a descriptive term for these characters. The two characters in the story were never actually named. It is not to be assumed that these two characters have any connection with The Elders of the Universe (The Grandmaster, The Collector, The Gardener, etc.).
Comment: It is possible that the Cosmic Elders are an offshoot of The Watchers (introduced in Fantastic Four # 13).

Quite possibly. In fact, I feel that the character of “Scrier” (from SILVER SURFER vol. 3) might be the Very First Watcher! * * And, thus, an Elder of the Universe, in that sense.*

I also feel they could be related to the mysterious Jovians who saved the Earth from the incessantly-growing Sserpo.
