The Monster In the Iron Mask
History: The Monster In the Iron Mask came to Earth as an advance war scout for a possible invasion from his home planet. The Monster boasted that he was all-powerful and that his only weakness was that he had to breathe, which is why he wore an airtight mask, so he would not be defeated with gases or poison fumes. The Monster attacked the city and survived a military counter-attack. Before he could signal the invasion force, the Monster was incapacitated by tear gas and forced to leave the Earth. In truth, the Monster's “airtight iron mask” story was only a misdirection; the “iron mask” was his real face.
Height: 10 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: The Monster had great strength and could smash an armored tank. Claiming his body was stronger than steel, the Monster was uninjured by an artillary barrage and even survived an atomic explosion.
Weapons: Spaceship
Comment: The Monster's “Iron Mask” is very similar in appearace to Dr. Doom's mask from Fantastic Four # 5.
Comment: “The Monster in the Iron Mask” should not be confused with the villain Iron Mask introduced in Kid Colt Outlaw # 110.
