The Robot Teacher
History: An experimental robot which contained the total of all human knowledge was assigned to a college campus as a teacher. One day, the robot saw a slight-of-build freshman named Henry Fuller being mocked and humiliated by bullies. The robot called Fuller over, telling him it wanted to help him. It instructed Fuller in body building exercises, proper diet, and martial arts combat skills. Weeks later, a stronger Fuller returned to the bullies who harassed him and beat them in a fight. Fuller then took on a more aggressive personality, becoming a worse bully to weaker students. The robot saw these events and felt responsible. It vowed to never again serve the human race, and would not respond to people at all. The robot was returned to the factory where it (and the entire robot teacher program) was scrapped.
Height: 7 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: The Robot Teacher was a super-computer programmed with a data base of all human knowledge, and was able to teach a variety of subjects. It could move about by flying on pressure jets.
Comment: The Robot Teacher had a slight resemblence to the mobile computer known as The Living Brain from The Amazing Spider-man # 8; perhaps it is a later model.

Thank you for reprinting this story here. It was nice to read. It taught a moral.
What is the nature of humanity ? Who was really more human or humane,
a machine or a man ? It was nice, but also deep.

oh,come on!!!!,do you ever have a negative comment?,i'll admit its not badly drawn, but this story is terrible, the story is just that same old stuff we had to hear when liz allen and betty brant broke up with peter parker, its just……contrived….and depressing…..another story exploring the human/machine relationship, but FAR more interesting was my all-time favorite story(i hate to mention it on this lowly entry)''MISTER MORGANS MONSTER''plot-holes,it may have, like henry pym and janet van dyne, they look like(morgan and his wife),illogical yes,but still one of the most touching stories i have ever read in a comic book(FANTASY MASTERPIECES#7)THAT was a classic, and as much as i felt for the ''monster'',it was fantasy not the depressing crap ive had to put up with in everyday life, for of all people,I know the pain of bullyings effects…oh,well at least, bullying was depicted as somenthing that was bad and set mankind back rather than being glorified, still, this story pales next to the other contents of ASTONISH#32,the eerie,''QUICKSAND'',which you can see in the reprints section, great, menacing, kirby art, reminiscent of his and joes days on BLACK MAGIC,and don hecks, predictable, but truly ASTONISHing medusa story''THE GIRL IN THE BLACK HOOD'',oh well guess stan threw this crappy robot story in to even out the TRUE astonishers!!…………'AU,REVOIR,AND DEATH TO ALL BULLIES!!!.
