Titan
History: The gigantic Titan arose from the ocean and lumbered through Manhattan Island, leaving a path of destruction. Telepathically speaking to the people, he told them all he came from Atlantis, and that his people wanted to return to the surface world and conquer it. Since his people knew nothing of mankind's defenses, Titan offered untold wealth to any human who would betray humanity. Titan's offer was accepted by John Cartwright, the most respected leader of the automobile industry. Titan took Cartwright, who was branded a traitor by the whole human race, to Atlantis, where Cartwright exagerated about the weaponry that humans had. The leader of Atlantis called off the invasion and declared that Cartwright would be executed; Cartwright willingly sacrificed himself to save humanity.
Height: 60 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Titan could smash through the steel framework of a building. He was amphibious, and could communicate telepathically.
Comment: The Atlantis of Titan's people is not to be confused with the Atlantis of Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner. It is possibly another city of the sunken Atlantean continent.
Comment: It has been implied that some of the Earth-bound monsters were mutate creatures created by Kro (warlord of the subterranean Deviant race) to attack the surface world. It is unknown if this is the case with Titan.
Comment: It is unknown if Titan has any connection with Goliath, Gargantus, or the Atlanteans from The World Below.
Comment: Similar giant aquatic inhabitants were seen in the story “At the Stroke of Midnight” in Amazing Adult Fantasy # 13 (art by Steve Ditko); possible connection?
Comment: Titan should not be confused with The Hulk (who is known in modern times as “Xemnu, the Living Titan”), nor with the Shi'ar Imperial Guard member known as Titan (introduced in X-Men # 107), nor with Saturn's moon, Titan (which is the home of a colony of Eternals as first seen in Iron Man (vol. 1) # 55).

And dont forget the result! After Titan took cartwright down with him, humanity predicted they would attack, so humanity unified to defend itself against this, and it was plain, that we were beggining to like working together. His 'treason' united humanity. Another unsung hero.

This story is great. This story is similar in result to the story with LoKarr bringer of doom.
Cartwright giving his life and not being known as a hero is like The Sacrifice.
Dawkins and CartWright were both shunned after passing away.
I pray that in real life there is a special place in Heaven for martyrs and heroes.
