WHAT A MONTH! Besides the FF, Thor, the Hulk and the last cover featured fantasy story, we get the Scarlet Beetle and Paste Pot Pete, two of my favorite grade B villains. It didn't get much better than this!

CORRECTION! Next month of Suspense was the last fantasy cover (it took them quite a while to get to Iron-Man)

With a name like Paste Pot Pete it's clear that Lee and Kirby weren't taking themselves too seriously… s'funny how the fans dont seem to mind. I would be willing to bet that Pete's moniker was the brainchild of Lee who didnt mind being painfully corny at times in the name of good clean fun! They just dont make em like this anymore, gang!

He was good as Paste Pot Pete with the silly costume. They wanted me to take “The Trapster” seriously but I couldn't. Paste Pot Pete was way better.

Paste Pot Pete remains “gold standard” for dumbness! One of my favourite issues.

Dear Editor,
Paste Pot Pete later became The Trapster.
I remember him fighting both Dare Devil and Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, when Karen Page was Johnny's girl friend.
She later went back to Dare Devil.
This took place in Hollywood.
