Of all the Marvel Monsters, Goom was the only one who was shown to have any offspring (I guess somewhere out there, there's a Mrs. Goom)
I always wondered why Marvel introduced the Son of Goom rather than just have the Return of Goom since Goom was still alive at the end of his last appearance, and other Monsters returned in sequel stories (Taboo, Grogg, etc.)

One of the last monster books I needed to complete my collection! Little Googam WAS a stinker, but he does look kind of cute and innocent on page 2, panel 5.
BTW, didn't the Comics Code have a rule against children in danger? Well, Googam was a child and he drowned in quicksand at the end of the story! Oh, it doesn't count for MONSTER children!

I owned a copy of TOS#15, featuring GOOM, so I had to buy the TOS issue that featured GOOGAM, the infant terrible offspring of that invader from Planet X. I wasn't disappointed with the sequel to the GOOM story, as GOOGAM was just as horrible as his father. Too bad that the little guy ended up in the quicksand, but it had to be in order for us Earthlings to survive. This father-son team from Planet X is just another example of the Marvel staff at work, dedicated to pleasing it's loyal fans with quality artwork & writing. If you don't have a copy of TOS#15 & 17, then start saving your nickels & dimes, as these two books will make worthy additions to your Marvel collection.
